Foxglove, Floral Art Print

The tall, stately, flower heads of the native Foxglove are a sight to behold when found growing en masse. They quickly colonise bare soil but, as they are biennial plants, you’ll have to wait until their second year to see them flower. As children, we used to pull the Foxglove flowers off the stem and wear them on our fingers, calling them Fairy’s Thimbles.

Foxgloves are an important pollen source and are especially attractive to long-tongued bee species. The dark purple markings inside the flowers are honey guides, showing up in ultra violet light. Foxgloves are poisonous, but are the original source of the heart medicine digoxin.

Each design is printed using eco-friendly plant-based inks onto high quality 100% recycled and carbon neutral 300 gsm paper. The paper is 100% recyclable, biodegradable and FSC certified, ECF and acid-free.

The mount board is lignin-free, alkaline-sized, pH neutral and calcium carbonate buffered to enhance its useful lifespan by minimising the effect of atmospheric pollutants.
